Happy weekend everyone! 🙂
For today’s blogpost, I’m going to be sharing with you guys my thoughts on When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. I was kindly sent a review copy of the book from Pansing and I really enjoyed the story 🙂 Let’s get started with the review!
Release date : 30 May 2017
Published by : Simon Pulse
Synopsis :
Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?
Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.
The Shahs and Patels didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not?
Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.
My rating : ♥♥♥ .75 / ♥♥♥♥♥

( Disclaimer : I was sent a copy of the book for review, all opinions stated are my own )
I heard many amazing things about When Dimple Met Rishi and I really enjoyed it, even though it wasn’t a 5 star read for me! The storyline was super adorable and to my surprise, actually really funny too 🙂 I found myself laughing out loud while reading certain parts of the book and it made me love the book more because it was such a lighthearted read.
Another element of the book that I enjoyed was getting to learn about the culture that both Dimple and Rishi were brought up in! I always love knowing about different cultures / beliefs / practices especially in books so it was great that we got to know more in this book 🙂
The characters were also really enjoyable as well! I’ve seen some people saying that they didn’t really like Dimple’s character but I actually really like her, she was so funny from the start and I really love her character development. Rishi is a hopeless romantic and he’s literally such a precious being!!! I hope this doesn’t sound creepy but I just wanted to wrap him up and hug him because he was just adorable. Their romance was also cheesy at times but still really cute.
Overall, I would highly recommend When Dimple Met Rishi if you’re looking for a quick yet fun and quirky summer contemporary ❤ If you’ve read When Dimple Met Rishi, feel free to let me know your thoughts about it in the comments too 🙂 Have a great weekend and I’ll see you in my next post, bye!
