Hi everyone, happy weekend! ❤
For today’s post, I’m going to be sharing with you all my thoughts on The Wish Granter by C.J Redwine. This is the companion novel to The Shadow Queen which I absolutely loved so I’m really glad that The Wish Granter did not disappoint 🙂 Let’s get started with my thoughts!
Release date : 14 February 2017
Published by : Balzer + Bray
Synopsis :
The world has turned upside down for Thad and Ari Glavan, the bastard twins of Súndraille’s king. Their mother was murdered. The royal family died mysteriously. And now Thad sits on the throne of a kingdom whose streets are suddenly overrun with violence he can’t stop.
Growing up ignored by the nobility, Ari never wanted to be a proper princess. And when Thad suddenly starts training Ari to take his place, she realizes that her brother’s ascension to the throne wasn’t fate. It was the work of a Wish Granter named Alistair Teague who tricked Thad into wishing away both the safety of his people and his soul in exchange for the crown.
So Ari recruits the help of Thad’s enigmatic new weapons master, Sebastian Vaughn, to teach her how to fight Teague. With secret ties to Teague’s criminal empire, Sebastian might just hold the key to discovering Alistair’s weaknesses, saving Ari’s brother—and herself.
But Teague is ruthless and more than ready to destroy anyone who dares stand in his way—and now he has his sights set on the princess. And if Ari can’t outwit him, she’ll lose Sebastian, her brother…and her soul.

All you really need to know is that The Wish Granter is a retelling of Rumplestiltskin! 🙂 Ever since watching Once Upon A Time, I became really interested in Rumplestiltskin’s character and I was so excited when I found out that this book is a retelling of his story.
Starting with the plot, it was very exciting from the start! The whole story was seriously so epic and packed with heaps of action. There wasn’t really any parts that were draggy which was great and the scenes towards the end of the book were so intense, you’ll literally forget to breathe. I also felt that the overall storyline came together really nicely and there aren’t any plot holes!
The characters were so awesome as well! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the romance in the novel but as individuals, all the characters were wonderful to read about and I loved all their different individual roles in the book 🙂 The siblings relationship between Thad and Ari was also really great and that was definitely a plus point in the book.
If you were a fan of The Shadow Queen or you love retellings in general, I would highly recommend you to pick up this epic book! If you’ve read The Wish Granter, let’s discuss more about the book in the comments 😀 Thank you for reading and I’ll see you in my next post, bye!
