Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend 😀
For today’s blogpost, I’m going to be talking about the book series that I’ve decided not to finish. Recently, I’ve found myself preferring standalone novels and I also realised that there are loads of series that I’ve just given up on 😦 I’ve chosen 5 to talk about today so let’s get started!
1. Snow Like Ashes trilogy by Sara Raasch
I read Snow Like Ashes quite some time ago and I honestly don’t remember enjoying it that much. When I was in Sydney, I found the second book ( Ice Like Fire ) for cheap so I bought it thinking that I’ll probably reread Snow Like Ashes but I never got to it 😀
I definitely won’t be buying the third book anymore and thus won’t be continuing with this trilogy.
2. Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard
Though I really enjoyed Red Queen, Glass Sword ( the second book in the trilogy ) was a major let down and the main character started to really annoy me. Also, I haven’t heard the best things for King’s Cage so I won’t be continuing on with this series anymore.
3. The Young Elites trilogy by Marie Lu
I actually really enjoyed The Young Elites but after reading The Rose Society, I lost interest in the trilogy and decided not to pick up The Midnight Star!
4. Magnus Chase & The Gods of Asgard series by Rick Riordan
This was a pretty disappointing read because I’ve never disliked any of Rick Riordan’s books 😦
I’ve thought about trying to give this book / series another shot and then buying the second book but I just never got around to it so I doubt I’ll be continuing on with the series.
5. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs
I did read the first book in the trilogy and I really enjoyed the movie as well but over the months, I just lost interest in the series and it doesn’t appeal to me as much as before 😦
Those are all of the series / trilogies I won’t be finishing and I hope you enjoyed this post! Feel free to let me know if you aren’t going to complete any of these too or if there are any other series / trilogies that you won’t be finishing 🙂 Thank you for reading and I’ll see you in my next post, bye!
Great post!
I have started reading the Throne of Glass series which I really want to finish, but I have a heap of review books to read, so I don’t think it is going to happen anytime soon haha. I haven’t read the Miss Peregrine’s series yet, I bought the first book and was really excited to get started but so many others have gotten in the way!
I bought the first book in the Red Queen series, but haven’t gotten there yet either..seems by shelves are full of half-finished series’..would love to have the time to sit and binge read them!
Happy reading!

• Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (first book was rather disappointing and now my two paperbacks and hardcover boxset are collecting dust)
• Divergent trilogy (Allegiant made me question how the heck I got through the first two books)
• The Mortal Instruments (I actually really liked this series but I never did finish that last book)
• The Infernal Devices (yep didn’t finish the last book either… also, this was the point where I told myself I had enough of the Shadowhunter world)
• Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard (I was superrr hyped for a series featuring Norse!! mythology!! but all that interest went six feet under real quick)
The thing about series… Too much commitment, a quality I lack.
I couldn’t get into Snow Like Ashes but it did sound really good to me😭I also lost motivation to read The Midnight Star even though I LOVED The Young Elites😭maybe one day I’ll finish it
I quite liked Snow Like Ashes but because it rounded off quite nicely without a cliffhanger, I didn’t feel the desire to read the next two books. I also don’t plan on finishing Red Queen as I lost interest in it very quickly, especially after DNFing the second book.
A friend of mine managed to trudge through it and she said it picked up during the last third. I’m glad I DNFed it though because I would probably have disliked the book anyway.
The only one I disagree with is The Young Elites! It is one of my favorite trilogies and I love how it ended. So, if you maybe ever just so happen to run into the last one somewhere, read it ;P

I found the writing in “Snow Like Ashes” so bad that it deterred me from continuing with the trilogy.

Aww man 😦 The writing for me was alright but I guess the plot lacked and made me lose interest

I feel that ALOT of people DNF’ed Glass Sword 😦 It was disappointing.
