Hello everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend! For today’s blogpost, I’m going to be sharing with you guys about some of my most anticipated November releases 🙂 November is definitely a bad month for my bank account because there are just SO MANY GREAT RELEASES. If you guys are interested in checking out any of the books I listed, just click on the title and it will direct you to the Goodreads page for the book. Let’s get started!

1. The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
Release date : 1 November 2016
The Sun Is Also A Star is a contemporary novel following our main characters, Natasha and Daniel. Natasha is twelve hours away from being deported but she meets Daniel and they spend the day together. Natasha doesn’t believe in love but Daniel believes that meeting Natasha was fated and that they are meant to be together.
I was lucky to receive an ARC of this novel for review and I absolutely loved it! The Sun Is Also A Star is adorable, thought provoking, poetic and heartbreaking. It is pretty much everything I want in a contemporary novel. If you would like to see more of my thoughts, check out my spoiler-free review HERE !

2. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Release date : 8 November 2016
Heartless is Marissa Meyer’s newest novel and it is a retelling of Alice In Wonderland but it primarily focuses on the Queen Of Hearts and who she was before she became evil. I am still waiting for my copy to arrive but I am so excited to read it! I loved The Lunar Chronicles so I’m really hoping that Heartless won’t let me down. Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful that cover is?! It’s even more beautiful without the dustjacket 😉

3. My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier
Release date : 15 November 2016
My Sister Rosa is a psychological thriller and I won’t be going into much detail for the synopsis but all you need is this small snippet from the synopsis :
” What if the most terrifying person you’d ever met was your ten-year old sister? ”
If that doesn’t make you want to pick up a copy, I don’t know what will 🙂

4. Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare
Release date : 15 November 2016
Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy is a collection of 10 novellas which are told by Simon from The Mortal Instruments series! I’ve already read all of the novellas when they were released in eBook format but I still want to get the physical format to add to my Cassandra Clare collection.

5. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them ( Screenplay ) by J.K Rowling
Release date : 18 November 2016
THIS IS MY MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF NOVEMBER * SCREAMS *
I don’t think I need to explain the synopsis as I’m sure most of you already know but yes, this is the screenplay of the upcoming Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them!!! I will be running to the bookstore on the release date to pick up this novel because :
1) There’s a 20% discount so I won’t have to spend too much money
2) THAT COVER IS BEAUTIFUL
3) It’s Harry Potter related and I need it for my collection 🙂

6. Of Fire And Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
Release date : 22 November 2016
Of Fire And Stars is a fantasy / contemporary novel following the story of Princess Dennaleia who is betrothed to the Prince of Mynaria but when she meets the prince’s sister, she starts to fall in love with her. Apart from that blooming romance, there is also magic, assassinations and horses 🙂
Though the premise of the novel sounds super appealing to me, the reviews have been super disappointing. I will still be getting Of Fire And Stars but I’m just not in a hurry to purchase it!

7. Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Release date : 22 November 2016
Lastly, we have Scythe by Neal Shusterman! Scythe is a dystopian novel and here is the synopsis :
In a world where disease has been eliminated, the only way to die is to be randomly killed (“gleaned”) by professional reapers (“scythes”). Citra and Rowan are teenagers who have been selected to be scythe’s apprentices, and—despite wanting nothing to do with the vocation—they must learn the art of killing and come to understand the necessity of what they do.

Only one of them will be chosen as a scythe’s apprentice. And when it becomes clear that the winning apprentice’s first task will be to glean the loser, Citra and Rowan are pitted against one another in a fight for their lives.

Dystopian isn’t my favourite genre but the premise of Scythe does sound interesting and I’ve been seeing some really great reviews. Hope to pick it up soon!

  1. Every one of the books you mentioned are on my highly anticipated books! I am currently reading Heartless, and then moving onto The Sun is Also a Star!!! The only one not on my list is My Sister Rosa, because that came out in Australia early in the year, and is still sitting down my TBR pile!

    Wonderful post 🙂

  2. I’m very much looking forward to Of Fire and Stars (the cover is gorgeous) and Scythe. I haven’t heard much about Of Fire and Stars. I’m hoping the reviews get better? :S That makes me really sad because the plot and the romance sound amazing.

    1. I know right?! I hope the reviews get better too, I’ve seen a lot of one or two star reviews 😦 I did read a sneak peek of it on the EpicReads website and to be honest, it didn’t grab me into the book.

  3. I have a few of these on my TBR–Heartless, The Sun is Also a Star, Scythe, and Fantastic Beasts. But they shall all wait to be read until December because NaNoWriMo is more important right now. Sorry books.
