Monthly Book Releases

Most Anticipated June 2016 Releases

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about some of my most anticipated book releases for the month of June 😀 I realised that there aren’t that many books coming out in June which I actually want, which is great because that means I can save more money this month!! Hope you all will enjoy this post 🙂

1) My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
Release Date : 7 June 2016
Synopsis : The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history—because sometimes history needs a little help.
At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren’t for Jane to worry about. Jane gets to be Queen of England.
I actually already ordered this book and it is arriving in 2 weeks. I wasn’t interested in this book when I first heard about it but after watching the book trailer on Epic Reads, I totally just grabbed my attention 🙂

2) The Cresswell Plot by Eliza Wass
Release Date : 7 June 2016
Synopsis : The woods were insane in the dark, terrifying and magical at the same time. But best of all were the stars, which trumpeted their light into the misty dark.
Castella Cresswell and her five siblings—Hannan, Caspar, Mortimer, Delvive, and Jerusalem—know what it’s like to be different. For years, their world has been confined to their ramshackle family home deep in the woods of upstate New York. They abide by the strict rule of God, whose messages come directly from their father.
Slowly, Castley and her siblings start to test the boundaries of the laws that bind them. But, at school, they’re still the freaks they’ve always been to the outside world. Marked by their plain clothing. Unexplained bruising. Utter isolation from their classmates. That is, until Castley is forced to partner with the totally irritating, totally normal George Gray, who offers her a glimpse of a life filled with freedom and choice.
Castley’s world rapidly expands beyond the woods she knows so well and the beliefs she once thought were the only truths. There is a future waiting for her if she can escape her father’s grasp, but Castley refuses to leave her siblings behind. Just as she begins to form a plan, her father makes a chilling announcement: the Cresswells will soon return to their home in heaven. With time running out on all of their lives, Castley must expose the depth of her father’s lies. The forest has buried the truth in darkness for far too long. Castley might be their last hope for salvation.
This book is apparently super weird and creepy, and there are pretty mixed reviews but the plot really intrigues me and the cover is pretty cool! I’m not sure if I will be getting a physical copy of this book but we shall see.

3) And I Darken by Kiersten White
Release Date : 28 June 2016
Synopsis : NO ONE EXPECTS A PRINCESS TO BE BRUTAL.
And Lada Dragwlya likes it that way. Ever since she and her gentle younger brother, Radu, were wrenched from their homeland of Wallachia and abandoned by their father to be raised in the Ottoman courts, Lada has known that being ruthless is the key to survival. She and Radu are doomed to act as pawns in a vicious game, an unseen sword hovering over their every move. For the lineage that makes them special also makes them targets.
Lada despises the Ottomans and bides her time, planning her vengeance for the day when she can return to Wallachia and claim her birthright. Radu longs only for a place where he feels safe. And when they meet Mehmed, the defiant and lonely son of the sultan, who’s expected to rule a nation, Radu feels that he’s made a true friend—and Lada wonders if she’s finally found someone worthy of her passion.
But Mehmed is heir to the very empire that Lada has sworn to fight against—and that Radu now considers home. Together, Lada, Radu, and Mehmed form a toxic triangle that strains the bonds of love and loyalty to the breaking point.
From New York Times bestselling author Kiersten White comes the first book in a dark, sweeping new series in which heads will roll, bodies will be impaled . . . and hearts will be broken.
This book is definitely my most anticipated book of June ❤
It’s a YA fantasy novel and of course, I have to buy every fantasy novel that is released haha!! 😀 The plot sounds super cool and the cover is GORGEOUS, and I am really excited to get it.

4) The Darkest Magic ( A Book Of Spirits And Thieves #2 ) by Morgan Rhodes
Release Date : 28 June 2016
Synopsis : In the second installment of New York Times bestselling author Morgan Rhodes’s highly acclaimed Falling Kingdoms spin-off series, danger looms and the mystery deepens as two warring evils vie for possession of one elusive, powerful book.
Modern-day Toronto: Sisters Crystal and Becca Hatcher are reunited after reclaiming the Bronze Codex and narrowly escaping death. They have no one to trust but each other, and the only thing keeping them safe is the book that sent Becca’s spirit to Ancient Mytica–the same book that their enemies would kill them for.
Ancient Mytica: Maddox grapples to keep his newly discovered powers under control, while the ruthless goddess Valoria hunts him down.
Modern-day Toronto: Farrell embraces his dark side as he unwittingly falls further under the spell of Markus, the mastermind leader of the nefarious Hawkspear Society, who will stop at nothing to find Crys and Becca–and the remarkable book in their possession.
New York Times bestselling author Morgan Rhodes takes readers into exhilarating new high-fantasy territory with volume two of the Book of Spirits and Thieves series, an epic contemporary saga perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander.
This is the sequel to A Book Of Spirits and Thieves which I have not read, but Morgan Rhodes is one of my auto-buy authors so I definitely hope to pick the sequel up!! If you guys didn’t know, this series is a spin-off series to the Falling Kingdoms series ( Wow, I use the word series way too much ) so I’m super excited to read it 🙂

  1. Although I -of course – want as many lovely and desirable books as possible, I too breath a sigh of relief when there is a manageable amount of books (that I want to read) are being release in a month.

And I Darken is one of my own most anticipated releases -especially now I have read some ARC review’s for it – I too love this cover, I much prefer it to the paperback edition (or may be it is just the UK one??).
