Hi everyone! It’s Wednesday, so that means that it is time for Top 5 Wednesday! 😀

1. Sally ( Percy’s mom ) from the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series
Sally Jackson is definitely one of my all time favourite mothers in books. In Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, we can already see the huge amount of love she has for Percy that is shown to us when we find out how she’s been putting up with Gabe just to mask Percy’s scent from the monsters after him and also how much she worries for him whenever he’s in danger. She’s a very strong woman and she’s always there for Percy so I definitely feel that she’s a very good mother ❤

2. Lorelai from The Shadow Queen
Lorelei is not a mother but I feel that she definitely has that ” motherly instinct ” when it comes to taking care of her brother, Leo. Lorelai is the only person left to take care of her brother because both their parents have died, so the only people they have left are each other. Throughout the course of the novel, we can see how protective Lorelai is of her brother and how much she would do to protect him. Lorelai never lets Leo out of her sight and she’s constantly making sure he’s alright. Overall, she portrays a really good ” motherly figure ” and I feel that this needs to be seen in more YA novels 🙂

3. Emelia from Salt To The Sea
Emelia was struggling through WWII when she found out that she was pregnant. This definitely put her in a very difficult position as she was left alone with a baby without a husband and her chances of surviving the war were very little. Despite the struggles and pain, Emelia still remained hopeful and preserved on all for her child. She’s such a respectable and hopeful person and she’s obviously my favourite character in the novel 😀 I will be doing a full review of Salt To The Sea so stay tuned for that!

4. Lily Potter from the Harry Potter series
Well, I’m sure everyone knows who they are and I obviously could not leave them out of today’s top 5 Wednesday topic! Lily, as well as her husband James, both sacrificed their lives to save Harry from Voldemort when Harry was a baby and I really admire both of them for their bravery ❤

5. Hazel’s mom from The Fault In Our Stars
Hazel’s mom is kind of a minor character but I definitely feel that she’s a very good parent. Hazel suffers from cancer and we can see that her mom takes very good care of her and is always supporting Hazel. I also really like Hazel’s mom as she is portrayed as more of a best friend than a mom which is really nice 🙂
